Company Compliance Services UK — Companies House filings, directors and PSCs.
Britvex helps UK limited companies organise recurring Companies House compliance, confirmation statements, registered-office information, director and PSC changes, identity-verification requirements and the connection between company records, annual accounts and tax.
Annual filings are only part of the obligation.
A company can remain active all year while directors, shareholders, PSCs, addresses and business activity change. Compliance means dealing with those changes when they happen and still completing the annual filing cycle.
Confirmation statement
Review the Companies House record at least once every 12 months and file within the permitted delivery period.
Directors and PSCs
Keep appointments, resignations, personal details, control information and verification requirements current.
Registered office and email
Maintain an appropriate registered-office address and a registered email address that the company monitors.
Shares and constitutional changes
Changes to share capital, ownership, articles or other company information can create separate filing requirements.
Do not treat the confirmation statement as a once-a-year chance to correct everything.
Companies House expects many changes to be filed when they occur. Director, secretary and PSC changes, for example, have their own reporting timetable and should not simply be held back for the next confirmation statement.
Monitor → Prepare → File → Connect.
Company compliance works best when changes are captured as they happen, supporting evidence is retained and recurring Companies House filings remain connected to the accounting and tax cycle.
Identify changes and recurring deadlines.
Track the company details, people and annual filing cycle that can create Companies House obligations.
Check the supporting facts first.
Confirm dates, addresses, appointments, ownership or control information before a filing is submitted.
Use the correct Companies House route.
Submit the relevant update or confirmation statement within the applicable filing period.
Keep company, accounts and tax records consistent.
Make sure changes affecting ownership, directors, addresses or year-end records are reflected in the wider accounting relationship.
Review the public record — then confirm it.
Every company must review its Companies House information and file at least one confirmation statement every 12 months. The filing can be made up to 14 days after the review period ends.
Verification and the company filing are connected — but they are not the same step.
The public register should follow the legal change — not the other way around.
Some changes require board or shareholder approval before a Companies House filing can be made. Others require separate forms, resolutions or supporting documents. Britvex can organise the company-administration side of routine filings and identify where legal advice or additional formal steps may be required.
Your registered office is part of the legal company record.
If the registered office changes, Companies House must be told and the new address does not become the official registered office until the change has been registered. The address must remain in the same UK jurisdiction in which the company is incorporated.
Britvex can connect registered-office and address services to the wider company-compliance relationship where the service is appropriate.
Outsourcing filings does not outsource the director’s legal responsibility.
Britvex can prepare and support company compliance work, but directors remain responsible for the company, its records and ensuring required information is accurate and filed.
Review information before filing
Names, addresses, dates, ownership and control information should reflect the actual legal position.
Tell Britvex when something changes
A compliance service can only respond to changes that are communicated while the filing window is still open.
Keep supporting documents
Resolutions, share information, appointments and other records should support the filings made on the company’s behalf.
Keep accountants informed too
Ownership, directors, addresses and year-end changes can affect accounts, payroll, tax and client-verification records.
Company compliance should sit beside accounts and tax — not in a separate annual panic.
Britvex connects formation and Companies House maintenance with the accounting and tax work that follows during the company’s life.
Company compliance should be documented and visible to the people responsible for it.
Britvex connects onboarding, company documents, accounting and client communication through a UK practice and secure client portal.
Before the next filing deadline.
These are general Companies House starting points. Specific company changes can require additional forms, resolutions, legal steps or specialist advice depending on the facts.
How often does a company need to file a confirmation statement?
A company must review its Companies House information and file at least one confirmation statement every 12 months. The filing can be made up to 14 days after the review period ends.
What is the current online confirmation statement fee?
The current Companies House online fee is £50 for the first confirmation statement in the 12-month payment period.
Can I wait until the confirmation statement to report a new director?
No. Companies House says changes to directors and company secretaries generally need to be reported within 14 days. The confirmation statement is not a substitute for filings already due.
How quickly must PSC changes be reported?
Companies House guidance says relevant PSC changes must be reported within 14 days after the company has confirmed the change.
Do directors now have to verify their identity?
Yes. Mandatory identity verification began on 18 November 2025. Existing directors are being brought into the regime through the transitional process, while new directors have verification requirements as part of appointment or incorporation.
Does Britvex verify my identity for Companies House?
Britvex can help explain how identity verification connects to your company filings. Identity verification itself must be completed through a route accepted by Companies House, such as GOV.UK One Login or an authorised provider.
If Britvex files for my company, am I no longer responsible?
No. Directors remain legally responsible for the company and for ensuring required information and filings are accurate and complete, even where an accountant or company-services provider assists.
Tell us what changed — or what filing is coming next.
Britvex can review the current Companies House record, identify the filing route, organise the supporting information and connect recurring company compliance to the registered office, annual accounts and Corporation Tax cycle.
